Rabbis Abelson and Arenson lead the Beth El congregation for the duration of the years that the congregation was located on Penn Avenue. The photo with Senator Humphrey was taken at the Penn Avenue building. Arenson specifically worked closely with Humphrey in the course of Humphrey’s tenure as Minneapolis mayor to boost North side inter-local community relations in the course of the late 1940s and early 50s.
